Allison & Tyler
A Marietta Square Engagement Session
Affordable Editorial Photography
There are some locations that just make a photographer's job feel effortless — and Marietta Square is absolutely one of them. Historic brick streets, gorgeous ambient light filtering through the trees, architecture that tells a story without trying too hard. When Allison and Tyler chose this spot for their engagement session, we knew we were going to create something special together.
What we didn't fully anticipate was just how perfectly these two would own the space. From the moment we started walking around the square, their connection was undeniable. Easy laughter. Genuine tenderness. The kind of comfort with each other that you can't manufacture — and that makes every single frame come alive.
Making You Comfortable Is The Job
A lot of couples come into engagement sessions feeling a little nervous about being in front of a camera. That's completely normal — and honestly, it's one of my favorite things to work through together. My approach has always been to get to know you first. Your personalities, how you naturally move together, what makes you both laugh. Once we find that rhythm, the camera becomes an afterthought.
Allison and Tyler were naturals. But even naturals benefit from a photographer who comes prepared — with a deep library of poses, a clear shot list, and the experience to read a moment before it happens. After more than 15 years and thousands of sessions, our team knows exactly how to guide a couple through a session so that the final gallery feels less like posed portraits and more like a visual love letter.
"The best engagement photos aren't taken — they're created. Through connection, comfort, and a photographer who sees every moment before it unfolds."
Nothing Gets Missed. Ever.
One of the things that sets my work apart is an obsessive attention to detail. Every session, I'm watching for the small things — the way Tyler looks at Allison when she's not watching, the way her hand rests against his chest, a shaft of golden light hitting the cobblestone at exactly the right angle. These are the photographs that couples treasure most, and they require a photographer who never stops looking.
Marietta Square gives you layers. The architecture. The greenery. The light that bounces off the historic storefronts in the late afternoon. We moved through the space intentionally, hitting every angle, varying between bright and airy moments in open light and moodier, shadow-rich frames in the covered alcoves. The result is a gallery that tells the full story of their session — not just the highlights.
Why One Photographer Isn't Enough
Most photography studios send one person to your wedding day. One set of eyes. One perspective. One camera in one place at any given moment. That means choices — and choices mean missed shots. The look on your father's face during the first dance while the photographer is focused on you at the altar. The bridesmaid laughing in the background of the getting-ready suite. The details of your reception space before guests fill it.
Every single package at Affordable Editorial Photography includes two photographers. That's not a premium add-on — it's our standard. Because your wedding day doesn't pause for a camera to move, and we refuse to let a single frame-worthy moment slip away. Your engagement session today is the beginning of that relationship — a chance to learn how you move together before the biggest day of your lives.
Hand-Edited. Every Single Image.
Here's something most couples don't realize when booking a photographer: many studios deliver galleries edited with batch presets — the same filter applied to every photo with a single click. It's fast. It's efficient. And it treats every image like it's identical, when no two are even close.
Every photo we deliver is hand-edited — not because it takes longer, though it does — but because no single style fits every vibe, every moment, or every quality of light. The bright, airy shot in the open square deserves a different touch than the moody close-up in the shade. Each image gets exactly what it needs, individually. That's not just editing — that's craft. And it's something we've been committed to since the very beginning.
Allison and Tyler, we are so honored to be a part of your story. From Marietta Square to your wedding day — we can't wait to capture every chapter. Congratulations, you two.
